Established in 2009 by John, Newave started as a small group of creative practitioners who facilitated music and arts enrichment experiences in predominantly Sandwell schools. Fast forward 10 years, the organisation now works with schools across the breadth of the Midlands to provide year-round bespoke music and creative arts delivery. The biggest thing that all drama, musical theatre, acting, dance and music students have in common is the desire to perform, rehearse and perform some more! Our students are always performing in our fully equipped theatre and at venues across Sheffield, using our TV and dance studios, recording studios and rehearsal spaces to bring their visions to life. Research projects in media and performing arts can lead to either a written thesis or one that combines critical writing with artistic, creative and/or professional practice.

Second year begins with a research skills module where you will explore methodological approaches, methods and the ethics of research. This module is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to develop a research proposal for your own bespoke project. Continuing from Professional Practice 1, this module explores anatoliabrookline.com deconstruction, analysis, and application of theory with more specific focus on musical arranging and orchestration. Practical workshop sessions will enable you to put theory into practice, collaborate in ensembles exploring a broad range of styles, and create music that stretches your technical and stylistic boundaries.
Arts, Music and Cultural Venues
You will initially engage with the fundamentals of notation and the various elements of music to develop your musical vocabulary. Music computer software will be integrated within sessions to enable you to see and hear the musical information presented. Applications from mature students with relevant experience will also be considered. We run a series of music and arts education programmes that support around a third of the schools in our area. All levels of Arts Award involve a degree of participation, reflection and gathering evidence appropriate to the level. Evidence can be provided by children and young people in a wide range of formats including written evidence and/or illustrations; blogs; social media; audio and visual recording; as well as Makaton, signs and symbols.
